February 21, 2012 – Candidate Forum
7 pm to 8:30 pm
American Legion Hall, FDR Post
1824 W Cortland St (between Wood St & Honore St)
The Bucktown Community Organization is organizing this Candidate Forum to provide voters an opportunity to meet and talk with candidates in the March 20 2012 Election. All local candidates were invited: Ward Committeemen, State Senator, State Representative and Judges for the Cook County Circuit and Sub-Circuit Courts. 10 confirmed attendees as of 2/13/12.
There will not be any formal speeches. We will do introductions by the position and encourage people to reach out to the candidates on their critical issues. There will be a table for voters to pick up small flyers. Posters and items larger than 8.5” x11” are not permitted. All materials must be removed when the candidate leaves the building.
The Bucktown Community Organization maintains a neutral position on all candidates and encourages our members and neighbors to come out and make their best informed decisions. No fundraising is permitted at this event. No endorsements can be made or assumed. This is intended to give voters a chance to meet the people on the upcoming ballot.
Doors open at 6:30pm and refreshments are available throughout the evening at nominal cost from our hosts at the American Legion Franklin D Roosevelt Post.
CAPS Meetings – be aware of crime going on in your neighborhood, become empowered to do something about it.
