Enjoy a walk in the Bucktown Neighborhood while learning about the 100 Identified Trees and our Tree of the Year the Ginkgo.   Visit nearly 100 gardens of every shape and size that are open for your inspiration this year.  Our goal is to show how Beautification continues in Bucktown gardens and to raise money to continue to improve our public spaces.  

Activities Bucktown Tree and GardenWalk 2011

Garden Oasis Stage – Live Music

Saturday and Sunday from 3 PM to 10PM, Club Lucky hosts “BCO Garden Oasis Stage” which features live music.  Club Lucky is also a great place to valet your car and catch the complementary Tree and GardenWalk trolley.  Meet for Lunch, Dinner, or Sunday Brunch and enjoy dining and cocktails indoors or out in the “Garden Oasis”.  GardenWalk food and drink specials are available.

Petting Zoo

Saturday and Sunday from 1 PM to 5 PM at Lottie’s Garden, 1925 W Cortland – stop by to see a variety of small animals not usually found in urban gardens.  Get your guidebook here, for the same $5 suggested donation.  Enjoy a $1 Lemonade, or a $4 vodka lemonade.  Pizza is ½ off from 4 PM to 7 PM

Guided TreeWalks

Saturday and Sunday at 3 PM meet at Club Lucky for a 30 minute Guided Tree Walk focused on the featured Tree of the Year, the Ginkgo.  It is our hope that by the end of the Tree and Garden Walk you will be able to identify Ginkgos.

In the Gardens

Saturday and Sunday – The Gardens are open from 11 am to 5pm.  Some of our gardeners are offering refreshments to their guests and neighbors.

Sidewalk Chalk Gardens

You may discover some chalk art on the sidewalks as you explore.  We have asked the families and children of Bucktown to participate with drawings of gardens in front of their homes.

Art in the Garden

The Plein Air Painters of Chicago are working in the streets and gardens in the mornings and have these locally themed works for sale. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Bucktown Community Organization. 

Post-Walk Party

Sunday from 5pm to 6:30 pm at our Presenting Sponsor, Club Lucky with free appetizers.  Please come by to toast to a successful end of walk.
